Mission / Vision
In 2010, the green team advisors proposed that because of the times we live in and the growing need for responsible citizenship and improvement of the school, community and global environment, we need to make a change.
There is so much to do and not enough green team bodies to take care of every environmental initiative from the board, every local request to plant trees, or clean up streams, every government or corporate environmental essay writing contest or the web of goals contructed by the student body and green team members themselves. Because of this and the important fact that acording to the, "Shaping our Schools, Shaping our Futures" Ministry document, teachers are responsible for preparing our young people to take their place as environmentally responsible citizens. What better way to do this than to incorporate the environment into the course curriculum?
As progressive teachers with a conscience, we need to be including environmental education into our course curriculum. Students need to develop attitudes and skills that will help them build a healthier planet.
